Short: Fast MPEG audio encoder (68k+FPU)
Uploader: kakace@aix.pacwan.net (Didier Levet)
Author: kakace@aix.pacwan.net (Didier Levet)
Type: mus/misc
Requires: AmigaOS 2.0+
Version: 1.0
Pegase 1.0 (v37.712, 18/8/98)
This is an early version of a highly optimized MPEG audio encoder,
based upon the Fraunhofer Institute CODEC.
Features :
- Layer 1/Layer 2 encoding (no layer 3 yet, sorry).
- Accept AIFF, MAUD, WAV, CDDA and RAW files (16 bits samples).
- Really Faaaaast (3:1 ratio using a 68060/50, 6:1 for 68040/40).
- High quality encoding, which make layer 2 nearly as good as
layer 3 (unless you have a sound card and good ears to hear the
difference, at least...).
- Rewritten with Amiga spirit in mind (4 Kb stack usage, ReadArgs
style command line parameters, file requester).
- Batch mode (can encode multiple files in one go).
Requirements :
- AmigaOS 2.0 or better.
- 68020/68030/68RC040/68RC060 (FPU is MANDATORY)
Distribution :
- EMail-ware. See the documentation for further details.
Future :
- The future depends on YOU. See the doc.
